This race offered the perfect opportunity to meld one of the most popular lifestyle vehicles on the road with a half-marathon race featuring approximately 15,000 runners. For decades auto manufacturers and drivers have dreamed of cars that could be powered by a fuel that was easy and inexpensive to acquire, and would not produce any form of toxic or eco-unfriendly emissions. One of these forms of fuel has long been thought to be the use of the hydrogen fuel cell, something that Toyota has been experimenting with since the early 1990s. In the time since those early days Toyota has developed and tested a number of hydrogen fuel cells and vehicles that have been powered by them.
