The spacious RAV4 interior is the perfect vehicle for weekend adventures. The rear seats are 60/40 folding, making it easy to quickly open up a cavernous cargo space. Technology

The 2016 RAV4 is also the most technologically advanced model to ever hit the road. First, drivers can add Toyota’s signature Entune audio system, and there are a number of different configurations to choose including 6.1 and 7-inch high-definition displays. Performance

The 2016 RAV4 ramps up the efficiency and delivers a confident, eco-friendly drive. All models are equipped with a standard 2.5L DOHC 16-Valve 4-cylinder. The FWD 4-cylinder provides 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. Plus, all models have received suspension upgrades, resulting in a smoother drive. The estimated MPG for the 2016 RAV4 is a maximum of 24/31/26 city/highway/combined for the base model RAV4 LE. Drivers can also upgrade any model to Toyota’s advanced Dynamic Torque-Control All-Wheel-Drive system. RAV4’s equipped with AWD have advanced handling, cornering and steering in a variety of road conditions.

Safety

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety named the 2016 RAV4 (equipped with forward crash avoidance technology) a Top Safety Pick+. The RAV4 was one of only a select few compact SUVs to earn the award. The ratings are based on the RAV4’s stellar crash ratings – which were the highest in all categories – as well as the RAV4’s suite of available safety technology, called Toyota Safety Sense. Safety Sense, which is standard on the RAV4 Limited, or available as a package on most other models, uses sensors to help avoid collisions. It is four different systems, including:

• Dynamic Cruise Control

Plus, the RAV4 is also equipped with available Blind Spot detection and cross-traffic alerts, as well as Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist, and LATCH child safety tethers. Toyota’s standard safety technology is available on all models, including Traction Control, Anti-Lock Brakes, Stability Control, and Brake Assist.
